Fashion Trendy ~ An Increasingly Popular East African Fabric [Kanga]

How can you resist the eclectic wear of a Kanga? A square, cloth made from cotton, adorned in splashes of color and design, common to East African countries. Always bold, slightly adventurous but at all times appealing, the kanga is a fabric with a magician act. It can be tied in knots, folded, pleated, and wrapped practically any way you want it.Kangas have for as long as is known been a traditional type of dress amongst women in central/east Africa. Kangas are part of everyday life for the women of east Africa, particularly Kenya and Tanzania. Traditionally, women wear them as sarongs or as headscarves. Nowadays Women dont just drape Khanga around their waist while indoors or in public as sarongs, or use them as towels after shower or carrying their young children on their backs. Khanga inspired fabrics and prints are so in right now (its a new black) and a lot of celebs have been spotted rocking the trend~ BeyonceRihanna, Alicia KeysFergieEstelleGwen Stefani even Michelle Obama was spotted rocking the Kanga Top

Below are the pictures of me wearing Kanga, designed by one of Tanzanian designer~ Asya Idarous Khamsin.

The Rise Of Glow In The Dark-Tattoos, Jeans, Tees, Shoes, Lingeries e.t.c !

That’s right. This glow in the dark phenomenon is growing. From glow in the dark tattoes, glow in the dark jeans and tees from Diesel, to glow in the dark lingeries from Lumino, it is getting pretty insane.
For the clubbing generation, Or the Twilight generation, both tend to live and learn more during the night. Halloween is long gone now and this adds up to this year’s Halloween must list, right next to that Chanel pumpkin (corner with the glow in the dark eyelashes).
The new glow in the dark jeans (and attire) from Diesel was treated with a special fluorescent coating making some things apparent only under UV lights.

If you’re the shy type, there’s something UV-apparent for you too! A set of glow-in-the-dark lingerie is available. The Boudoir Collection from Glow in the dark lingerie is small enough to look appealing and glowing enough to get the right attention your way! The LuminoGlow Lingerie comes with a special fabric care note: dry in the shade! Or else… Which glow-way will you go? Outerwear or underwear?

From all-night parties and raves to latest video, pop culture suddenly got dark but if you look closely, there’s something in the shadows you wouldn’t otherwise see.Something bright, new and different. They’re called black light tattoos and chances are they’re glowing at a nightclub near you.

Scarves~Never Go Out Of Style,Here are Different Ways To Wear A Lightweight Spring Scarf

Scarves are a must for a dash of trendiness to your personal style.A strategically wrapped scarf is a must-have accessory. Available in virtually every price point, a lightweight scarf adds a glam touch to something as simple as a tank top and jeans or a layer of texture to a spring jacket or dress.Fashion history classes have taught us that the uniqueness of a frock or of an outfit often resides in the accessories they’re matched with. That’s why it’s best to choose them accordingly.Perfect for the transitional days of early spring and indispensable for chilly air conditioned offices and restaurants in the summer, here are 8 ways to wear a lightweight scarf… and my top favorite style that is hot right now ~~Bowed scarves

My Favorite Style ~ Rachel Roy’s Bowed Scarves.
Rachel Roy’s scarves are fun, colorful and very versatile. While Rachel Roy is known for a variety of wearables, her collection of scarves stands out from all the rest. Dressing her models up in her accessories, Roy plays with her fabric adorning them in child-like bows and draped scarves all with color-popping designs. It’s time to forget about thinking of scarves as a winter-only fashion item because the Rachel Roy scarves will up your style game for the coming hot weather.

Trend Alert- Cork Wedges

It’s definitely apparent that this Spring’s hottest shoe is the platform wedge – and that said, the bigger the better…coming in all shapes and sizes these sandals are flying off shelves as fast as they’re hitting them. Yet with all of the options out there right now, we definitely think the season’s sexiest, and the style you have to grab asap, is the sculptural wedge created from a combination of mixed medias: always sure to include just the right amount of cork of course. Due to the intricate designs that allow these shoes to intertwine different favorites like rope, leather and even chain, the popular mixed media wedges create an illusion that slim the foot, flatter the leg and definitely make your whole look a little more sultry. But it’s that bit of cork that allows you to easily take the shoe from day to dinner – adds an easy neutral to match any color combination and quite simple becomes the perfect go to accessory.

Hellow Fashion Lovers~ Zac Pozen For Target Is Almost Here

Rodarte, Proenza Schouler, Temperley, Jean Paul Gaultier and now…Zac Posen! Target certainly has us hooked with their limited edition capsule collections and we cannot be more excited for their newest guest designer, the amazing Mr. Posen. The collection, set to launch on April 25th, is quintessentially Zac, complete with floral skirts topped with two-tone braided belts and snap-embellished cage dresses finished off with wayfarer sunnies. Starting at just $19.99 the entire collection is a steal and trust me, it’s going to fly so you better stay on top of those red and white shelves!

Turquoise~Color of The Year 2010

Found out today that.. Turquoise was picked as the Color of  the year 2010 this past January…by Pantone
I love this color myself. I think it is so refreshing and sophisticated-A mix of blue and green, turquoise has a sweet feminine feel while the darker teal shades add lively sophistication. Enjoy this year’s beautiful color and may your year be a colorful one! Happy shopping Everyone!

Trend Alert- Maxi Dresses(Very Versatile and Must Haves for Warm Weather)

The Maxi Dress is a classic Spring/Summer ensemble and something I commonly refer to as The One Dress Wonder. Worn with a pair of gladiator sandals( I prefer wedges) and accessorized with a fabulous handbag and chic pair of shades, the Maxi Dress is a sassy and simple way to welcome in the sunshine.

Although mine isn’t actually a Maxi dress, I just love the colors of this dress, and wanted to share these photos with you. I have couple of Maxi dresses but dont have photos of them, I will post the photos next time.

Miss Betty Boo, rocking her Maxi dress on our Ascot Hats Themed Tea Party yesterday..

Below is a photo of Rosemary of FJ wearing her Maxi dress by Asos, an H&M jacket, scarf and hat,  G-series boots and Gucci bag. She chose an aqua colored handbag  to add a little excitement to her outfit.
