Skin Beaching=Skin Cancer

All skin tones represent various shades of beauty. There are beautiful people in all racial and ethnic groups. We should not devalue people because of their skin complexion being different from ours. Many people feel that they are lower because they skin complexions are darker.
Nothing annoys me more than seeing these beautiful young Black and surprisingly Asian women changing their skin colors so they can appear whiter, or lighter than they were before. Obviously they dont understand the side effects of bleaching their skin and the significantly increasing risks of skin cancer.Did you know that Black skin and Asian skin have thicker and more compact dermis than white skin. This is also explains why blacks and Asians have fewer facial wrinkles than whites. I bet you didnt know that!
Most of these whitening products contain a lot of harmful ingredients for your skin.
Mercury – poisons the bloodstream, therefore toxic when used in cosmetics. You’ll have an idea more or less what happens if your blood is infected with a deadly toxin, which can cause kidney or brain damage.
Hydroquinone – has been banned in Europe and Asia because it has been found to be carcinogenic, makes the skin hypersensitive to the sun, and thus can cause skin cancer.
Steroids – can lead to thinning of the skin and produces stretch marks. It isn’t good because a thinned skin is also prone to skin infections.
Our solution to the problem lies in our need to increase and inspire confidence about the beauty of the black skin. Do something positive to counter your low self-esteem. Take advantage of the good parts of your body or talents. Girls/Women .. you are beautiful the way you are! Be proud of your heritage.

Whats Going On With Dennis Rodman?

I just saw Dennis Rodman on REHAB show and he doesn’t look the same.Is he ok? He looks sick! Couldn’t recognize him when I saw these photos. His skin looks scary. What do you think!

Kelly Osbourne’s Remarkable Transformation!

I was so shocked( in a good way) when I saw Kelly Osbourne’s recent photos. Have you seen her? Not the Kelly Osbourne that we have all known for years! The 25-year-old Kelly Osbourne, who has waged a long, public battle with her weight. The rock offspring — daughter of Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne – has lost an impressive 40lbs since her appearance on US TV show Dancing With The Stars and feels better than ever.
“I am much more confident with myself and I really do love my body now. I was never happy with my body before.I’m doing the bar method between Pilates and ballet. It sounds weird but it’s fun. I get bored easily so this works. It’s incredible to start getting muscles in places on my body that I never knew I could get.Kelly said.
A trick she has learned is to eat just a little bit of something that has no carbs and no sugar in it before you go to sleep because it keeps your metabolism going. They say you should never eat before you go to bed, but  she said she have found just having a tiny little snack  -  like half an apple or something like that  -  before you go to sleep really helps.Kelly has come a very long way and matured alot, I think she looks terrific. I just hope she stays healthy, and not getting too skin.

Judge Not Lest Ye Be Judged~ Tiger Woods Apologizes,Now Lets Move On..Jeez

Tiger Woods has emerged from seclusion. After the golf star was spotted jogging, playing golf with friends and leaving his Florida home with wife Elin, he appeared this morning in front of the media, for his first public statement since the Thanksgiving episode. His beautiful wife, Elin, was not by his side, and he stood at the podium solo, while his mother sat front row. Here are some highlights from his emotional speech:

“I was unfaithful. I had affairs. I cheated. What I did was not acceptable.”

Tiger Woods mom Kultida has her son’s back 100%. After Tiger’s apology speech, she told reporters she’s “so proud to be his mother. Period”.According to Kultida, Tiger’s a good man who just happened to make a mistake: “He didn’t kill anybody. He didn’t do anything illegal … People don’t understand that Tiger has a very good heart and soul.”

Tiger Woods has returned to his home in Windermere, Fla. — and his wife Elin Nordegren is there too … according to an eyewitness.

Tiger has apologized, looks like his wife is with him, his mom still loves him,its time for us to move on. I am so over this Tiger’s story.

Gabourey Sibide Talks About Being Left Out From March 2010 Vanity Fair Cover

Vanity Fair’s March issue came out a couple of weeks ago with a fold-out cover featuring nine young actresses to represent ‘The Fresh Faces of 2010.’
Abbie Cornish, Kristen Stewart, Carey Mulligan, Amanda Seyfried, Rebecca Hall, Mia Wasikowska, Anna Kendrick, Emma Stone, and Evan Rachel Wood all had some sort of breakout year, some with more memorable performances than others.
Not pictured was Oscar nominee Gabourey Sidibe, even though she was interviewed inside the magazine and has the most compelling breakout story of all…
“At first I thought, ‘Hmm, should I be there?” she told Access Hollywood. “Then I very quickly got over it. I think if I were a part of that shoot I would have felt a little left out anyway.”Gabourey Sidibe said as she sat down with Access Hollywood..
My reaction when I saw this Cover was…. WTF!! I think Talent should be the “New Hollywood” and talent is blind to race, size and any other subcategory people use as a medium to gauge success or potential success!

MusicMonday ~ Earth Song By Michael Jackson

This song makes me sad everytime I hear it.. We have to stop destroying our earth, save plants and animals and love one another.

“Earth Song”
What about sunrise
What about rain
What about all the things
That you said we were to gain…
What about killing fields
Is there a time
What about all the things
That you said was yours and mine…
Did you ever stop to notice
All the blood we’ve shed before
Did you ever stop to notice
The crying Earth the weeping shores?
Aaaaaaaaah Aaaaaaaaah
Aaaaaaaaah Aaaaaaaaah
What have we done to the world
Look what we’ve done
What about all the peace
That you pledge your only son…
What about flowering fields
Is there a time
What about all the dreams
That you said was yours and mine…
Did you ever stop to notice
All the children dead from war
Did you ever stop to notice
The crying Earth the weeping shores
Aaaaaaaaah Aaaaaaaaah
Aaaaaaaaah Aaaaaaaaah
I used to dream
I used to glance beyond the stars
Now I don’t know where we are
Although I know we’ve drifted far
Aaaaaaaaah Aaaaaaaaah
Aaaaaaaaah Aaaaaaaaah
Aaaaaaaaah Aaaaaaaaah
Aaaaaaaaah Aaaaaaaaah
Hey, what about yesterday
(What about us)
What about the seas
(What about us)
The heavens are falling down
(What about us)
I can’t even breathe
(What about us)
What about apathy
(What about us)
I need you
(What about us)
What about nature’s worth
(ooo, ooo)
It’s our planet’s womb
(What about us)
What about animals
(What about it)
We’ve turned kingdoms to dust
(What about us)
What about elephants
(What about us)
Have we lost their trust
(What about us)
What about crying whales
(What about us)
We’re ravaging the seas
(What about us)
What about forest trails
(ooo, ooo)
Burnt despite our pleas
(What about us)
What about the holy land
(What about it)
Torn apart by creed
(What about us)
What about the common man
(What about us)
Can’t we set him free
(What about us)
What about children dying
(What about us)
Can’t you hear them cry
(What about us)
Where did we go wrong
(ooo, ooo)
Someone tell me why
(What about us)
What about babies
(What about it)
What about the days
(What about us)
What about all their joy
(What about us)
What about the man
(What about us)
What about the crying man
(What about us)
What about Abraham
(What was us)
What about death again
(ooo, ooo)
Do we give a damn
Aaaaaaaaah Aaaaaaaaah

Congratulation Flaviana Matata ~ Tanzanian Model~

Congratulation to my girl former Miss Universe Tanzania 2007, Miss Universe 2007 5th runner up, and now a model in South Africa, Flaviana Matata for her hard work, determination, faith and patient, she will soon be moving to New York to pursue her carrier as a model. She got signed to a major agency  with the help of Mogul Russell Simmon.

As she writes on her blog Flaviana thanked Russell Simmons for being ever so helpful giving her the opportunity to audition in New York with outstanding agencies and he has been working on helping her find a modeling home. She said  “Have met many people but honestly he is the man of his own kind, sacrificing his time beside his busy schedule he has, very few people can do this as have had so many promises after doing well in Miss Universe but up to now haven’t heard from any of the people who promised to help me pursuing my career.  I am so  excited about the possibilities and opportunities that await me in the future, in the United States, and I can only hope and pray that all things work out.  May God bless Russell Simmons in whatever he is doing”

Flaviana, won the very first edition of the Miss Universe Tanzania pageant in 2007, and went on to represent her country in the Miss Universe pageant the same year, where she placed among the Top 15 semifinalists and ended up in 5th place after the evening gown competition. She was the first contestant from Tanzania to compete at Miss Universe 2007, and compete with a shaved head. She has recently model print ads for Sherri Hill. I cant wait to see her representing.Congratulation again!

Who’s Your Doppelgänger?

Malinda Williams—- Photo Credit~Ericka

Doppelgänger ~a ghostly double of a living person that haunts its living counterpart. If you’ve noticed that many of your Facebook friends look a lot like celebrities, it’s not your eyes playing tricks on you: It is Doppelganger Week on the social network site. The trend went viral last week and still is going on with more and more Facebook users changing their profile pics to celebrities they’ve been told they resemble.

“The basic premise is that everyone has been told at least once in their lifetime that they resemble a celebrity,” says the Doppelganger Week fan page on the site, which also provides help for those who might not know what celebrity they resemble by directing users to face-recognition sites that help find their celeb look-alike.I have been told I look a lot like Actress Malinda Williams (Soul Food)…What do you think?

I Love and I’m Proud Of My Accent – A Facebook Group

I just started a new Facebook group called “I Love and I’m Proud of My African Accent“. If you are like me, with deep roots in Africa, you probably have heard Americans say you have an accent. You might feel that having an accent is not a good thing. Many new immigrants in America are embarrassed about their foreign accents and struggle to learn to speak like Americans. I think all this is rather unfortunate. With apologies to no one, I speak English with my distinctive Tanzanian accent~ but I usually get this “I love your accent, it’s so beautiful”, that makes me feel proud of my individuality~

“An accent is an intrinsic aspect of spoken language. Nobody can say a word, let alone speak a language, without an accent. Basically, an accent is one’s distinctive way of speaking” For example, Texans, have their own accent, so do New Yorkers and Americans from other regions. We all should be proud of our accents, because that differentiate you from another person, it make you “Unique”

So if you have an accent and are proud of it, go ahead, join this group and invite all of your friends to join this group as well.A place where you can connect and share stories and feel like you are at home.Anyone can join this group~ After all we all do have accents. LOL!

By the way, there is no such thing as “Do you speak African” and ooh..Africa is not a country, it’s a Continent; Africa is a land of diversity and contrasts, comprised of several thousand different ethnic groups. Each ethnic group has its own distinct language, traditions, arts and crafts, history, way of life and religion.

Divorce Gift Registy By Yours Trully-Debenhams

Move over Macy’s, Nordstrom, Sears,Crate & Barrell and Pottery Barn for your wedding gift registry.A store in Britain has launched a gift list service for people getting divorced.Debenhams has launched what is thought to be the UK’s first ‘divorce gift list’ for couples who are splitting up.

The tendency for modern couples to live together before getting married means the wedding list – designed to stock the newlyweds’ first home with basic goods – has become somewhat obsolete.
Divorce, on the other hand, results in one partner leaving and then having the need to fit out an entire new house with cookware, linen and electric goods.

Peter Moore, Head of Retail Services at Debenhams, said: “Divorcing can be an expensive time and registering for a Divorce Gift List means that family and friends can help the newly separated begin their new life.” “Unlike a wedding list which tends to be full of luxury items, I think this is going to be more basic,People will get towels, bed linens, irons, toasters and kettles.” Attridge said.

The launch date was anything but random — Debenham’s chose the month of January because it’s the busiest month for divorce in the UK.

I wonder if they will also have or / include a -> How To : A complete guide to choosing the right divorce gift for you!..
