Barefoot In Baghdad ~ FollowFriday

I am reading this book called Barefoot in Baghdad, written by Manal Omar. (She is the pick of my #followfriday topic today) . Barefoot in Baghdad is an interesting read and I wanted to share with you.

Barefoot in Baghdad: A Story of Identity—My Own and What It Means to Be a Woman in Chao:~ is an intimate look at the heartrending struggle for freedom and identity in Iraq. This poignant memoir tells a riveting story of hope and despair, of freedom and longing, by Manal Omar as she worked as a Regional Coordinator for Women for Women International, a nonprofit NGO, in Iraq. Omar recounts the extraordinary metamorphosis of Iraq from a liberated country into an occupied one and speaks of her quest to help as many Iraqi women as she could survive the savages of war and occupation. FollowFriday ~ Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 "There’s A Time For Everything"

To everything there is a season, and
a time to every purpose under heaven:

A time to be born, and
a time to die;
a time to plant, and
a time to pluck up
that which is planted;

A time to kill, and
a time to heal;
a time to break down, and
a time to build up;

A time to weep, and
a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and
a time to dance;

A time to cast away stones, and
a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and
a time to refrain from embracing;

A time to get, and
a time to lose;
a time to keep, and
a time to cast away;

A time to rend, and
a time to sow;
a time to keep silence, and
a time to speak;

A time to love, and
a time to hate;
a time of war; and
a time of peace.
