Judge Not Lest Ye Be Judged~ Tiger Woods Apologizes,Now Lets Move On..Jeez

Tiger Woods has emerged from seclusion. After the golf star was spotted jogging, playing golf with friends and leaving his Florida home with wife Elin, he appeared this morning in front of the media, for his first public statement since the Thanksgiving episode. His beautiful wife, Elin, was not by his side, and he stood at the podium solo, while his mother sat front row. Here are some highlights from his emotional speech:

“I was unfaithful. I had affairs. I cheated. What I did was not acceptable.”

Tiger Woods mom Kultida has her son’s back 100%. After Tiger’s apology speech, she told reporters she’s “so proud to be his mother. Period”.According to Kultida, Tiger’s a good man who just happened to make a mistake: “He didn’t kill anybody. He didn’t do anything illegal … People don’t understand that Tiger has a very good heart and soul.”

Tiger Woods has returned to his home in Windermere, Fla. — and his wife Elin Nordegren is there too … according to an eyewitness.

Tiger has apologized, looks like his wife is with him, his mom still loves him,its time for us to move on. I am so over this Tiger’s story.

FollowFriday ~ Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 "There’s A Time For Everything"

To everything there is a season, and
a time to every purpose under heaven:

A time to be born, and
a time to die;
a time to plant, and
a time to pluck up
that which is planted;

A time to kill, and
a time to heal;
a time to break down, and
a time to build up;

A time to weep, and
a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and
a time to dance;

A time to cast away stones, and
a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and
a time to refrain from embracing;

A time to get, and
a time to lose;
a time to keep, and
a time to cast away;

A time to rend, and
a time to sow;
a time to keep silence, and
a time to speak;

A time to love, and
a time to hate;
a time of war; and
a time of peace.

Gabourey Sibide Talks About Being Left Out From March 2010 Vanity Fair Cover

Vanity Fair’s March issue came out a couple of weeks ago with a fold-out cover featuring nine young actresses to represent ‘The Fresh Faces of 2010.’
Abbie Cornish, Kristen Stewart, Carey Mulligan, Amanda Seyfried, Rebecca Hall, Mia Wasikowska, Anna Kendrick, Emma Stone, and Evan Rachel Wood all had some sort of breakout year, some with more memorable performances than others.
Not pictured was Oscar nominee Gabourey Sidibe, even though she was interviewed inside the magazine and has the most compelling breakout story of all…
“At first I thought, ‘Hmm, should I be there?” she told Access Hollywood. “Then I very quickly got over it. I think if I were a part of that shoot I would have felt a little left out anyway.”Gabourey Sidibe said as she sat down with Access Hollywood..
My reaction when I saw this Cover was…. WTF!! I think Talent should be the “New Hollywood” and talent is blind to race, size and any other subcategory people use as a medium to gauge success or potential success!

WoofWednesday ~ Microchip Your Dog

Having your pet microchipped can be the fastest way of having your puppy/dog returned to you, should he or she become lost. Most lost pets are picked up by good Samaritans who see them wandering alongside the road or coming into their yards, while others are picked up by local Animal Control officers. In most cases, if the pet is not wearing a collar with ID tags containing the owner’s contact information, found pets are brought to either the pound or a local veterinarian’s office to be scanned for a microchip so that they can be returned home safely.
Most veterinary offices, shelters, and humane societies have microchip scanners that can detect a chip underneath the pet’s skin. In the United States, the most commonly used chips, from AVID and HomeAgain, broadcast on a 125 mHz frequency. When a compatible scanner is passed over the chip, the chip receives the scanner’s radio signal and sends back the chip number, which is then displayed on the scanner. This gives the vet or Animal Control officer the ability to call the company with which the chip is registered, which will put them in touch with the registered owner.

Giraffes, Botswana

A balance of playful yellow and passionate red, orange commands attention without overwhelming. This often flamboyant color brings to mind citrus and sunsets, fall leaves, and jack-o’-lanterns. Orange has even been found to stimulate appetite and creativity in humans. Here, three giraffes in Botswana’s Okavango Delta stretch their necks above the horizon before a glowing orange sky.

Microsoft has finally launched its long awaited Windows Mobile 7 Series operating system, promising a unified interface no matter which telco you buy your phone from, a totally fresh new user interface with graphical pizzazz and wow, Zune and Xbox Live integration and more – but we still don’t know if there’s “true” multitasking.

Today, at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Microsoft  publicly previewed Windows Phone 7 for the first time,but if you wanted to buy a Windows 7 phone now, or even in “60 days”, you’re out of luck and will have to persevere for some months longer.You won’t be able to buy the brand new totally fresh operating system or any new 7 Series models until the holidays ~ around 9 months away, and likely 4 to 5 months after the expected birth of the iPhone 4.0 hardware and OS.

FollowFriday ~Remembering Alexander McQueen~

While the fashion world is mourning the loss of one of its greatest, Alexander McQueen, we are comforted in knowing that his creative legacy will forever live on.His countless fans will never forget the projection of an ethereal Kate Moss hologram at the Fall 2006 presentation, nor his last show, Spring/Summer 2010, in which he sent dozens of futuristic models in pod-like mini-dresses and insect-inspired shoes down the runway.

Saks Fifth Avenue, which has long been a supporter of Alexander McQueen, recently opened a new in-store boutique for McQueen, one of its best-selling British designer labels, along with Burberry, on its refurbished third floor.Saks is now in the process of designing a “memorial window” for the renegade designer who revolutionised fashion in the last two decades.

Boitano, one of many senior American retailers trying to come to terms with the designer’s suicide, recently returned from Milan where he saw McQueen’s new menswear collection and also previewed his pre-collection for autumn.“The pre-collection is gorgeous, just gorgeous; the most beautiful cocktail and evening gowns. We were planning to do a series of special ‘trunk’ shows in the store for special customers, but that won’t happen now.”

Snowpocalypse ~ Is It Global Warming or Global Warning?

As I sit here watching the snow coverage, it becomes clear to me these recent snowstorms are evidence of global warming.This is the worst snowstorm that I have ever seen in my life.It looks like 63% of the country (USA) is blanketed with snow (DC,Philadelphia,New York). The rest is getting either too much rain, mudslides, flooding or nothing at all.Who can forget last year’s floods in the Phillipines and  Tanzania, the unexpected earthquakes in Haiti and last night’s earthquake in Illinois and yet some places like Vancouver, the Canadian city still has not seen any snow, and it is the host city for the Winter 2010 Olympics.

Have we been warned? Is it  global warming? Looks like there have been hints that it was coming. The 2009 U.S. Climate Impacts Report found that large-scale cold-weather storm systems have gradually tracked to the north in the U.S. over the past 50 years. While the frequency of storms in the middle latitudes has decreased as the climate has warmed, the intensity of those storms has increased.That’s in part because of global warming – hotter air can hold more moisture, so when a storm gathers it can unleash massive amounts of snow.Climate models also suggest that while global warming may not make hurricanes more common, it could well intensify the storms that do occur and make them more destructive.

The nor’easter began blanketing the Washington area overnight and strengthened as it continued to move northward through Baltimore, southeast Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York, where 10 to 17 inches could fall by evening. The National Weather Service issued blizzard warnings across the region, warning that wind gusts exceeding 45 mph could prompt dangerous whiteout conditions later in the day and snow drifts of up to 4 feet.

DSM IV ~ The Ultimate Encyclopedia Of The Mind/The Bible Of Psychiatric Treatment Is Being Revised~

If you’ve been doing research and reading about  pretty much any mental illness, you’ve probably seen phrases such as, “According to the DSM-IV …” or “The guidelines in the DSM-IV state …” But just what is this DSM-IV? ~It is the 4th edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders published by the American Psychiatric Association. In the United States, it is the primary system used to classify and diagnose mental disorders.The DSM-IV is an important tool for clinicians. It provides a standard for diagnoses to be standardized across psychology; however, the DSM-IV is not as precise for diagnosing personality disorders as some psychologists would like.

For the first time in over a decade, the go-to manual for diagnosing and treating mental illnesses is being revised, and the committee tasked with the job has released its suggested amendments to the public.The draft criteria for the fifth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders are available online at www.dsm5.org. The site provides a forum to accept comment on proposed changes. Comments will be accepted through April 20. Update to the draft criteria will be made based on comments and field trials before DSM-5 is published in 2013.As part of the development process, the preliminary draft revisions to the current diagnostic criteria for psychiatric diagnoses are now available for public review and comment. The publication of the fifth edition of Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5) in May 2013 will mark one the most anticipated events in the mental health field”~ APA.

The DSM was first published in 1952. At that time, it contained only 66 disorders with short lists of symptoms for each and some discussion of the believed cause of the various disorders (Holmes). In 1968, the number of disorders was expanded to just over 100 with the publication of Edition II. Edition III of the Manual (1979) introduced a multiaxial diagnostic system of five scales.The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) is the ultimate encyclopedia of the mind, and the primary resource for physicians charged with assessing mental ailments such as clinical depression, eating disorders and autism. Despite advances in genetic screening and brain scans, mental illness diagnosis still relies on written descriptions, which makes the DSM immeasurably influential.
