iPad-Not A Computer, But Not A Smartphone,So What Is It?

Nearly everything about the iPad is a joke to my opinion. It seems like Apple really missed a golden opportunity. If Apple produced a Mac Air Netbook we would’ve all buy one..right?. It would have fit between the iPhone and the Macbook pro/ Macbook air range, portable and have much greater functionality.

I’m just not clever enough to understand that I need it. I better not announce to the world that I don’t understand or I’ll prove I’m stupid.. I will go with this quote to explain  my lack of understanding it ~“Exceeds your ability to understand”~

Why getting an iPad,while you can basically do almost anything with your iPhone? iPad has no phone functionality? So I have to carry my phone and this around, but if I have an iPhone I can do most of this stuff anyway (but with a smaller screen), so what’s the point of having both?

iPad’s biggest weakness is the lack of a full-blown, flash-enabled browser, the lack of multi-tasking and ooh and lets not forget~ it’s un-ergoonomically designed, no USB ports, no removable battery or memory…no lid?

How long is that screen going to stay unscratched. You are going to have to purchase accessories like a keyboard, a docking station,an iPad protection cover/lid.Of course it’s great for the manufacturers of accessories who will no doubt produce a multitude of covers and lids, and who knows how much those apps are going to cost.

What Are You Thankful for Today?

What are you thankful for today? It’s Thankful Thursday, and Iam thankful for being able to smell the fresh air, and see this day (Today)!
Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life.
It turns what we have into enough, and more.
It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity….
It turns problems into gifts, failures into success,
the unexpected into perfect timing, and mistakes into important events.
Gratitude makes sense of our past,
brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.
Iam Thankfully for this day (today!)

Dogs Are Miracles With Paws

Introducing our puppy Coco for today’s theme ~Woof Wednesday.
I thought since this is my first woof Wednesday topic, I should first talk about my puppy Coco, a lhasa apso male dog, purebred ~20months old who still acts like a 2month old puppy.Whoever said you can’t buy happiness forgot little puppies.

We didnt know what type of a dog to get when we were looking for a puppy. We knew we wanted a small dog, but which kind/breed? So we started researching about small breeds, and came across this breed, Lhasa Apso~a non-sporting dog breed originating in Tibet. It was bred as an interior sentinel in the Buddhist monasteries, who alerted the monks to any intruders who entered. Lhasa is the capital city of Tibet and apso is a word in the Tibetan language meaning “bearded,” so Lhasa Apso simply means “long-haired Tibetan dog.

Lhasa Apso is a loyal dog, who while not be a traditional lapdog, is a steadfast sweet, happy, active, assertive, adventurous little companion dog whose only desire is to be with and protect their owners. After researching, we knew this is the right kind for us!One night after searching the internet for hours and hours, I saw this cute little lhasa apso puppy just staring at me saying “Get me,get me,get me”. That minute I saw his cute face, I told my husband , I think this is the one. We called the number, and YES, he was available.

The next day my husband and I drove for two hours to go get him, and we became new dog owners~ he was ours to keep? I couldn’t believe it, I was beyond happy,I was ecstatic~ we named him CoCo (short for coconut for his white and brown markings,a lot of fur and that he was sweet as a coconut).Coco is full of personality,a wonderful dog, fun, loving and a great watchdog. He is our JOY.

Woman Uses iPhone App to Get Pregnant

They say technology shapes society, and all the while, society is shaping technology.I was just browsing the web today looking for some interesting things to post for my theme ” Tech Tuesday “and  I came across  this amazing story~ an “iPhone Baby”  direct link at-> Mashable

After four years of infertility, all it took was a simple download for 30-year-old Lena Bryce to get pregnant, making her the proud mother of Britain’s very first “iPhone baby.”
Bryce, who desperately wanted a child, told The Sun “It began to weigh heavily on us. We were considering IVF and adoption when [my husband] Dudley gave me the iPhone for my 30th. I typed in ‘get pregnant’ and downloaded five apps.”
The young wife chose The Free Menstrual Calendar (an iPhone app), which highlighted in bright pink her most fertile day. She got pregnant two months after downloading the app, and gave birth on the exact day that it predicted.->Talking about the power of technology! What’s next!

~LYRICS~
I am unwritten,
Can’t read my mind
I’m undefined
I’m just beginning
The pen’s in my hand
Ending unplanned
Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words
That you could not find
Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten, yeah
Oh, oh
I break tradition
Sometimes my tries
Are outside the lines, oh yeah yeah
We’ve been conditioned
To not make mistakes
But I can’t live that way oh, oh
Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words
That you could not find
Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
drench yourself in words unspoken
live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
the rest still unwritten
(Gospel)
Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words
That you could not find
Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open *****
Today is where your book begins
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open *****

The rest is still unwritten

Photos Of The Day

How is everyone’s Sunday going? What did you do today? We had a very simple lazy Sunday. It has been raining all day, but still is beautiful outside.Coco still needed his walk.We took him to Golden Gardens Park ,one of the best and my favorite park here in Seattle. The park is located in Ballard on Puget Sound- this popular park offers extraordinary views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. We took couple of photos while we were there!

Coco,as usual the first thing everything morning, is to wake Mom up

Coco,  enjoying his ride

At Golden Gardens park, still raining, but not bad considering it is snowing somewhere right now, so we are  way better.I can take rain anytime  :-)

Coco, finally getting his walk… but still looks around to make sure there’s other four legged around so he can go and say hi.

The view was beautiful despite the rain.

Happy 60th Birthday Dad!

I find myself wondering…
Did I give you your due..
For all that you’ve done for me
Did I ever thank you?
For all of my childhood memories
For helping me deal with life’s stresses
For helping me accept my defeats
And celebrate my successes?
Or for teaching me the value of hard work,
Good judgement, courage, and being true
The laughter, smiles, and quiet times we’ve shared
Did I ever thank you?
If I have forgotten, I’m thanking you now
You taught me right from wrong….
I hope you know how much you’re loved and appreciated
I hope you, instinctively, knew it all along.
Happy Birthday, Dad

The Book Of Eli~King James Survives The Apocalypse~

The following short review may contain minor spoilers. I’ve stayed away from the big ones, just know that you have been warned!
The Book of Eli is another post-apocalyptic film-(A meteorite and a subsequent war 30 years earlier has scorched the Earth and the population). This time, Eli (Denzel Washington).A lone man fights his way across America willing to do any and everything in order to protect a sacred book that holds the secrets to saving humankind. He even travels with a shotgun and a blade so to protect the book. The storyline, actors, and fight scenes were the movies only saving grace. The Book of Eli may not be Denzel’s best offering, but it is worth seeing. You will most definitely enjoy the action scenes with Denzel. I enjoyed the movie and the action scenes. Some Christian movie reviewers are concerned about the violence and the language in the film. I thought though, the ending was a bit weak.
